BMW AGAIN? Leading the way to a clean drive!
BMW has just released a pre-production model(finalized design & not a prototype) of the Hydrogen 7 that is mono fuel. They have already proven that the technology works with the bi-fuel(hydrogen & gasoline) 7 series. This is intended on showing that a vehicle can run solely on hydrogen. It also is intended on demonstrating no sacrifice in performance, comfort and ease of use in a hydrogen vehicle.
Power comes from a 6.0-liter internal combustion engine that has been optimized in its design to run best on hydrogen. Longer range, better mileage and most importantly “ZERO EMISSIONS”. The only measureable amounts of emissions are from minute amounts of oil that get through the pistons rings while the engine is running. And they are barely measureable, as the engine also burns up the existing pollutants already in the air.
Hydrogen appears to be the fuel of the future in BMW’s eyes. It can be produced in stable areas as necessary meaning energy security. It will be produced using renewable, clean technologies like solar, wind and bio-processes. It has no carbon and therefore hydrogen combustion generates no CO2, HCs and other pollutants. Hydrogen can be easily stored to regulate the supply when electricity may be less available(no sun/wind power for periods).
